Looking out my window this morning,
it is cloudy and the wind is blowing.
A cold front is on the way.
At least, what qualifies as a cold front for us!
We might even get some much needed rain.

This week I took a dear friend to lunch to celebrate her birthday.
We went to one of Houston's top restaurants,
It gives an upscale name to "hole in the wall".
Walking down the street, if you blink at the wrong time,
you will miss it!
A warm, intimate setting with it's narrow brick clad rooms.
An award winning all Greek Wine selection.
Lets get to the food!
We shared the citrus and fennel salad (their winter salad).
Fennel, orange, grapefruit, blood orange, red onions, calamata olives, feta.
Delicious!
And, the Green 'n Cheese pie.
Phyllo, four different greens and three different Greek cheeses.
YUM!
Helen Greek Food and Wine is an easy walk from my house.
I'll be going back ... soon!
There is nothing else like it in town.

For me, the holiday season begins when the Houston Zoo
has the members opening for Zoo Lights.
The weather was perfect.
The kettle korn and gingerbread cookies were pretty wonderful, too!

That restaurant looks absolutely lovely; it's my kind of place! We visited Houston last April (for the Final Four) and we enjoyed the city so much. I didn't have high expectations because I'm not really a 'city' girl; but we were so impressed with the friendly people and the cleanliness of the city! Have a great weekend. Suz
It looks so yummy and I like Greek food to (we have a restaurant here in town) and a beautiful room with the mirrors and wonderful illumination, you're right, that's the beginning of holidays.
Enjoy them :-)

Great way to start the Holiday Season with the beautifully decorated and lighted zoo. And .OH My how I would love that restaurant! Beautifully presented food....and I love those flavors. The restaurant looks so cozy and comfortable too! Our kind of place. I love living in the City and being able to walk to good restaurants...but I haven't found a wonderful Greek one like this yet!
They really make the food look beautiful! And I love your Fall banner! Enjoy your week! Hugs, Diane
Ah the Greek restaurant looks lovely and I bet all the food was yummy. We have an excellent Greek Restaurant in Marysville, Wa---not too too far from here . My Grandaughter used to go there---when she was much younger--22 now--all grown up and working no time anymore.

I love Greek food and this restaurant looks like it make delicious fare!
I worked with a doctor who was from Greece and he gave me many delicious authentic recipes his mother made. My favorite was Greek lemon soup-- Avgolemeno.
