I Couldn't Resist

Sometimes it good to NOT listen to oneself.
I told myself that I would not buy/look at any newly made teacups.
Then I went to Homegoods with one of my sisters-by-choice
and there it was ....
This beautiful black and white toile/transferware trio.
I couldn't resist.

Tea Trio

Square Plate and Cup and Saucer with floral design and birds!

Tea Cup

It is called Adelaide Grey by 222FIFTH.
Tea tastes wonderful in this cup and I had a nice salad on the plate.

In addition, I had a couple of wonderful mail calls.
Bigelow had a give-a-way on Face Book.
They gave away tins filled with Constant Comment to celebrate
their 70th anniversary.
I have fond memories of drinking Constant Comment.
My mother and I would visit with a good friend and her daughter at least
once a week and drink Constant Comment -- and read tea leaves!
They also included a sample of Green Tea with Pomegranate

Tea Collage

The other mail call was from Angela at Tea With Friends.
She gave-a-way a fun teapot tea strainer and a tote bag.
A girl can never have enough tote bags.
She finds the most wonderful tea things.

Tea Collage

I've had a tea-riffic time!

“I take a few quick sips. "This is really good." And I mean it. I have never tasted tea like this. It is smooth, pungent, and instantly addicting.

"This is from Grand Auntie," my mother explains. "She told me 'If I buy the cheap tea, then I am saying that my whole life has not been worth something better.' A few years ago she bought it for herself. One hundred dollars a pound."

"You're kidding." I take another sip. It tastes even better.”

Oh I love the tea set - it is beautiful, and it looks old too, so that should count for something. :-) And I agree - a good cup of tea is a magnificent thing. What a lovely time for you - with nice gifts in the mail.

I LOVE your black and white Adelaide teacup trio! I have four little square plates in the blue. Love them and the darling birdie pattern! The black is very chic and I like Constant Comment tea. I can't get it here but a blogger friend sent me some a while ago and I remember it was delicious. Congrats on the wins! You did very well, Snap, and thank you for sharing it all with us at Tea Time. Have a fabulous day.

Congratulations on winning Angela's giveaway--that tea strainer is super cute! I finally tried Constant Comment this summer and quite liked it!

Your new toile teacup is fabulous! Black and white teacups are hard to find so I would have snatched it too! If I can't resist a tea-related item at HomeSense, I would buy it and tell myself that I have 30 days to return if it I change my mind. Of course, I always end up keeping the item! Hee!

I have the same rule when I enter Home Goods..."I will not purchase a new teacup or teapot." It's so hard to follow it. I agree that your black and white set is definitely worth breaking the rules over. The square design on the saucer is so unique. It's definitely a keeper. Years ago I drank Constant comment constantly (no pun intended). I should try the green version.
Love your quote at the end. I need reminders and a push to drink the good tea from the nice teacups.
Happy Tea Time,

Home Goods is such a cool store. The cup and saucer are very nice. And Constant Comment is my favorite tea, too. Do your Celestoal Seasonkngs in Texas? While not expensive, it is a local company in Boulder specializing in natural herb teas. I love the chai.thanks for stopping by the Garden Spot.
