Dragon Pearls

Dragons collect jewels
and this dragon collects tea!
From the moment I opened the package
I was entranced by the pearl shape of the tea and the wonderful jasmine scent.
A real treasure for the senses.

Dragon Pearls Tea

Pearls of tea with obvious silver tips
hand-rolled into the pearl shape.

Dragon Pearls Tea

Brewed for one minute.
The tea is a very pale green.
The jasmine taste and aroma is strong, but not overwhelming.

Dragon Pearls Tea

Brewed for two minutes
the color of the tea is darker
and the jasmine is lighter.

Dragon Pearls Tea

Brewed for three minutes
the green tea is taking over
with hints of jasmine.
 A full-bodied yet simple tea.
Elegant and complex taste.

Dragon Pearls Tea

Watching the tea leaves unfurl is half of the fun!
I continued to brew tea from these leaves.
Increasing the brewing time and the heat of the water (careful!).
With each brewing, the jasmine was weaker and the green tea stronger,
but never bitter.

Dragon Pearls Tea

A good jasmine tea is hard to find
and Teavivre produces one of the best.
I think I'm in love!
I've had it with and without food.
I have never added anything to the tea.
It's perfect the way it is.

You can read more about the handcrafting of Dragon Pearls at Teavivre.

I'm joining several tea parties:

Wishing YOU well, much joy and a wonderful cup of tea!

Hello Snap. I'm glad you enjoyed my Valentine tea, and I am linking back from there. I had NO IDEA jasmine pearls were HAND rolled! Fascinating. Now I have to go make some tea. I have a delightful blend from Teavana of Jasmine Dragon Pearls and Honeybush Vanilla. Not sure you will see my comment on my blog because I did not receive an email that you commented...just a heads up.
I literally just learned TODAY how to correct this if you are interested. -

It's slightly different for Google+ users like me, and I figured that out as well if you need it.
Have a wonderful week and thanks for visiting!

How wonderful that you can get so many different flavours and colours just by the length of time the leaves brew. Tea is absolutely fascinating, isn't it? Thanks for sharing your tea time with with us and have a lovely day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Jasmine Dragon Pearls Green Tea by Teavana is one of my favorite teas. I too have experimented with different brewing times and have been pleasantly surprised by the results of varying the brewing time.

I haven't brewed pearl tea in a while but have really been entranced with the opening of the leaves in the past. Thank you for the recommendation regarding Teavivre's teas and also for visiting my blog. Happy Lunar New Year to you!

I can only imagine how wonderful it must have smelled!

Happy Tea Day, Snap! It's pretty cool how variations in brewing times and water temperature can alter the taste of the tea.

Your tea sounds intriguing to me, Snap. I wish I could share a pot of tea with you.

oooh, Jasmine teas are the best! I found this post really interesting with how the taste of tea changed--especially that the jasmine taste was the strongest with the shortest brew time.

Jasmine tea was the very first kind of tea I ever drank, way back when I was young. I drank it all through college too. Funny, I only have it now just every once in a while, and usually when dining in an Asian restaurant.

I love your leaves - true jewels to be sure! Do you have one of those clean little glass teapots so you can watch special leaves unfold? Some tea leaves are really amazing to watch carefully.

That tea looks so interesting, I don't think I've tried one quite like it. Even the dragon seems to be enjoying it.
