It's Friday!

It's Friday!

A little randomness is called for!

Thank you, Nancy!

I'm having fun eating birthday cake for breakfast!
Tea and Cake!

**

Speaking of my birthday,
I had a surprise from a young friend.
She didn't know my birthday was coming up when she called and said
she had an extra ticket for the ballet and was I interested.
You bet I was interested.
It had been years since I'd been to the ballet.
It brought back memories.
When we first moved to Houston, we joined everything.
We had opera tickets, ballet tickets, symphony tickets for several years --
until it seemed like operas and ballets were being repeated.
And, by that time we had also discovered Rice University and all the wonderful
programs going on there and usually free!
The ballet was wonderful -- three small ballets -- one classical, one modern and one a spoof.
Nice night and fun.

Teddy made a visit to the vet for another ultrasound on his heart.
I'm happy to report that there was no change in 3 months.
He's doing well on his medicine and the vet will see him again in 6 months.
The girls and I are happy and so is Teddy!

The Rice Owls won the regional in Oregon and are in Raleigh
for the Super-Regionals against North Carolina State.
Can't tell you how proud I am of these young men.
Go OWLS!

It's HOT!

Wishing YOU well and much joy!

Now that was a God-wink to be asked to the ballet near your birthday! So nice. I only had season tickets one year to a local community theater...wonder if I could talk John into that again...nah, probably not.

Wonderful news about Teddy and you all stay cool now!

No sweeter way to celebrate a birthday -- cake for breakfast, an evening at the ballet with a friend and enjoying the things in life that bring you pleasure! It's been a good week indeed! xoxox

So wonderful that you were able to enjoy the ballet in time for your birthday!

I'm glad Teddy got a good report. He's a handsome boy!

Stay cool! It's pouring rain here--apparently part of Tropical Storm Andrea.

Teddy is a ringer for a friends cat Rufus, nice that everything is good for him. Ballets I love the Ballet and seldom get to them. I wanted to be a ballerina once, too short, too fat and no stamina, my Mom saw that, I took tap!

Nothing better than cake for breakfast! What a lovely surprise to go to the ballet. It is important to keep doing things we once loved...to keep venturing into the world.

Big Love to you,
Deb

Happy birthday - and what a wonderful way to celebrate - going to the ballet. I've only been a couple times and I always think that in my next life I'd like to learn ballet (not that I really believe in that - it's just a nice thought). Have a nice weekend!

Hi Snap ~~ I like your breakfast. Good for Teddy in passing his ultrasound exam. I do that every six months for my AAA (abdominal aortic anyeursm).

I will second your cheer of the Rice Owls. My son has an MBA in Finance from there. I'll have to see if they are on TV for the next game.

Lastyly we are neighbors, as we live up in Montgomery. We like the Houston things to do also. Don't forget Shakespeare Month in the Miller Outdoor Theatre. It is in August I believe.

Beautiful cat, she looks very peaceful, or maybe its a boy, hard to tell with cats. Sweet your friend treated you to the ballet at birthday time.

Hello Snap
I can think of nothing nicer than an evening at the ballet to celebrate a BD, hope you had a good time. We go to summer theatre every year; usually 2 musicals, a comedy and a drama. Many of the actors are from Stratford so it is quality acting.
A special treat is to see the Nutcracker at Christmas put on by the Royal Ballet.
I'd eat cake for breakie too!

Hi Snap, Birthday cake and tea, the breakfast of champions! :)
I could have sworn I commented on Teddy's good report but I don't see it here. He's such handsome boy! Sorry your Owls were defeated, I had to google to see the results since they were playing NCSU.
