Postcard Friendship Friday

We lived on Galveston Island for many years.
Dickens on The Strand is held there in December .
I remember it as a lovely Victorian celebration of Christmas and found this post card at one of the shops along The Strand.

This is a reproduction moving action Santa greeting postcard.
His arm with the paint brush moves.

There's nothing Santa
more enjoys
Than making toys for
girls and boy,
And in his way he's
wondrous wise,
For he knows just
what'll please
your eyes.

Fun!

Mr. Dragon is home with his oxygen.
We learned a very sad lesson ... never believe your doctor until the FINAL path report is in.
Cancer cells were found in the fluid that has collected around his lungs.
We have an appointment on Monday to see what is next for treatment.
Thank you for your support, your prayers, your emails.
It means a great deal to both of us.

As Thich Nhat Hanh says:
"Smile, breathe and go slowly."

Wishing you well and a JOY filled weekend!

Yes indeed, go slowly. The Santa card is lovely. I am always amazed at how intricate things were made (way back then) with very little technology. It was a matter of using what you have and inventing what you didn't have. A good reminder.

The good news is Mr Dragon is home with you. I know that the other news isn't great but keep positive thoughts around you at all times.

Thinking of you both each day and sending hugs and healing light.

So sorry to hear your news, and will be keeping you and Mr. Dragon in my thoughts.

Oh Crap..... I'm so sorry, Snap.... I was so excited (as I'm sure you were) to think that there was no cancer... What a let-down on you two... Doctors are human--however, they need to be careful before saying things like that.

I love Dickens on the Strand. My friend who lives in Pasadena goes to Dickens on the Strand every year. My son who lives in Galveston (and his family) enjoy it also.

Speaking of Galveston, my son saw some Sandhill Cranes down there recently and sent me pictures. I'll blog about it next week.

Hang in there, my friend... You and hubby are in my prayers.
Hugs,
Betsy

That's a great card. That company made some nice reproductions and now they are getting old themselves.(©1982)

It's also embossed or at least appears that way from the message side.

We'll offer our prayers for Mr. Dragon this evening.

I've never come across a postcard with moving parts before. I don't suppose too many have survived.

My very best wishes and thoughts for you and Mr Dragon.
