It's Friday.
Time to look back on the week and join Nancy with Five Random Things.

I have a new dentist.
I decided it was crazy to drive half way across town to have my teeth cleaned
when I live in an area (near the medical center) where there are dozens of dentists to pick from.
To make the story short ... I like her!
And I like the hygienist.
And, when the weather is nice, I can walk to my appointment and have lunch after.
Sounds like a good deal to me.
**
The kitty toy of choice right now is the common, ordinary drink straw.
YeeHaw!

August was the month for doctor appointments.
Cassie and Mina both had their annual exams and were very good girls at the vet office.
I had my eyes checked today.
I have a family history of glaucoma and have my pressure checked very six months.
I passed again.
****
I am crocheting some Halloween hot pads.
Here is the pumpkin.
Cute!
I'm working on some ghosts and will share them next week!
*****
I can't complain much about the weather ... except still no rain.
The heat this UGHust hasn't been as bad as past years, but UGHust isn't over yet!
Now, if it would rain ... lightly ... for several days ... that would be nice!
Thanks for dropping by.
Wishing YOU well and much joy!
Hi Snap! Love your adorable JOL hotpads! Love the kitties playing with a drink straw, an empty water bottle can provide a good 20 minutes of entertainment for Chloe & Gracie :)
ReplyDeleteThose hot pads are adorable! Great work.
ReplyDeleteSupposed to be gettin' hot here for the next few days -- hope you get your rain. :)
Those hot pads are adorable!!
ReplyDeleteBest news in all of this? That you passed your 6 month test at the eye doctor. Now THAT is a yee haw!!!! xoxox
ReplyDeleteYou are brave - going to the dentist - walking like a stroll to the coffee shop.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations for Great Eyes . .
AND - your crochet project is cute, cute, cute!!!
Happy Friday!
Cute pumpkins! Ughust is such a fun name for a long, hot month...what month do you favor in your corner?
ReplyDeleteIt seems as if every one has been having a crazy weather pattern this August. It has been hot this week but today there's a lovely cool breeze coming off the ocean and blowing the curtains around.
ReplyDeleteIt's amazing what cats can turn into cat toys and play with for hours.
ReplyDeleteThose are so darned cute! One of the girls at work is having a sweet baby boy late in October, and I am determined to knit her a baby cardigan for him (she loves them)... in spite of my knitting skills being so-so. I hope it turns out half as cute as those pumpkins!
ReplyDeleteThose hot pads are so cute! Must. Learn. To. Crochet! :)
ReplyDeleteThose hot pads are adorable! Can't wait to see the ghosts.
ReplyDeleteAren't cats funny--you can buy expensive cat toys, but they're more interested in simple things like boxes, bags--and straws!
Glad your eye appointment turned out well!
These pumpkin potholders are incredibly CUTE!!!
ReplyDeleteA few good downpours would be appreciated here too.
ReplyDeleteCrocheting: that skill still eludes me!
-Karen
Ughust! Lol. I love that.. but not the fact that it's hot and miserable for you.
ReplyDeleteThose hot pads are cute and beautiful!
And i'm glad for you that you changed your dentist and are happy with her. Have a lovely weekend!
Adorable post holders! UGHust - lol - that's one of our nicest months way up here! Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteWhat sweet little hot pads! Can't wait to see the ghosts.
ReplyDeleteHi Neighbor ~~ Thanks for showing the hot pads, I really like them.
ReplyDeleteGood on the doctors, I will do mine in September when we are home. In our family history runs macular degeneration. Not good, Dad was blind for the last eight of his 97 years.
..
Brilliant hotpads ... You can have some of our rain in my part of the UK it's raining as I write this !!!!
ReplyDeleteLove Ughust! that's brilliant. Read it to Robert and we both laughed. :) Those are lovely little hot pads. One of these fine years I'm going to learn how to crochet for real! I keep taking it up and putting it right back down again. lol. Last time was when I decided to figure out those Japanese flowers everyone was making scarves from, remember those? One day...
ReplyDeleteAlways great to get good news from our doctors/dentists. Glad you found a new one that you like.
ReplyDeleteLove those Pumpkin Pot Holders, so cute!
Our kitties love playing with straws too. Silly cats.
I saw your link on a rural journal and had to come over. I love the pumpkin hot pads. Those are adorable. Is that your own pattern?
ReplyDeleteThe pumpkin hot pads are great!
ReplyDeleteOur LuLu loves to play with popsicle sticks. She leaves them all around the kitchen floor so when anyone comes over we have to explain why we have popsicle sticks everywhere!
My cats LOVE straws! What's funny is that guests who come in think we've dropped straws on the floor and clean them up.
ReplyDeleteI love crochet and you are very talented, it's wonderful!
ReplyDeletehugs and purrs
Léia and little LUNA
I like your idea to move to a dentist who is closer so you walk and have lunch later - my kind of appt. day!
ReplyDeleteWe were driving over an hour to our dentist until a woman opened her office around the corner and we changed too.
I like the pumpkin hot pads, and the fun stickers you've added to your photo.
The month is flying by, and like many other bloggers I'm not at my computer as much because I want to be outside while I can.
Have a good weekend Snap.
Judith
Aren't you clever!! Such cute Halloween hot pads.
ReplyDeleteThose pumpkins are so cute! We desperately need rain here, too. Sigh.
ReplyDeleteNeat hotpads! Glad your eyes are healthy!
ReplyDeleteMy dentist is a hottie. I'll stick with him!
ReplyDeleteYour hot pads are darling.
ReplyDeleteGlad your eyes passed.
God bless,
d
Hi Snap, I'll send you a little rain - we've been getting heavy downpours nearly every afternoon. This AM, my hands were freezing when I exercised. Fall is already in the air here (though I'm not thinking pumpkins quite yet!)
