I just finished Trader Joe's Peppermint Pretzel Slims.
Thin, cruchy thin pretzels with a creamy coating and peppermint sprinkles.
Boy, were they good!
I figured if I listed them here in the Land of Blog perhaps I would remember them for next year!
I still have some TJs Mini Gingerbread Men -- gingerbread cookies with white fudge icing.
Also very good.
I'm really not a big lover of shortbread, but I loved the Santa tin -- especially the reindeer running around the bottom.
Friendly Village by Johnson Brothers is one of my favorite patterns.
I love that I can use this pattern from November into the winter months.
When Johnson Brothers was founded in 1883 by Frederick and Alfred Johnson, their goal for the Staffordshire pottery was to produce an earthenware called "White Granite," which is marked on many early pieces as "Semi Porcelain." It was a great material for dinnerware because it looked like china but was as tough as ironstone. However, the firm would become the most famous for its transferware like Friendly Village.
I'm always on the lookout for more pieces to add to my small collection.
I'm enjoying my leftovers from the holidays, including Comfort and Joy Tea by the Republic of Tea.
It is black tea leaves blended with spices and fruit. Yum!

Hi Snap! I love JB Friendly Village, also, and really most all of their patterns. I missed out on some of TJ's holiday treats, but will try to remember them next year. I'm so glad you have some leftover wintry teas that you enjoy. The holiday blends are my favorites.

ReplyDeleteI fear our leftovers have left the building (table, cupboard, platter). We finished the last of them this weekend - and I haven't decided to start baking for Valentine's day yet. My daughter is a superb cake/cookie decorator and this year I want to learn to do fancy decorations from her - we'll see how that goes for Valentines Day and if I have the patience. I love shortbread cookies with tea - and the santa tin is delightful.

ReplyDeleteMy step-daughter made some of those pretzels! They were delicious and didn't last as long as yours did. She also made snowmen with caps using thinner pretzels...adorable and tasty. I am glad that I am not the only one still enjoying Christmasy things. I do love your Friendly Village mug. I have two, but both are badly chipped.

ReplyDeleteI spotted a set of Friendly Village mugs in excellent condition at our thrift store a few years back. I didn't need any more mugs, but couldn't bear to leave them behind, so I persuaded my mom to bring the set home with her. Heh. I'm also keeping an eye out for (reasonably priced) matching pieces to the pattern.

Those pretzels sound yummy! As does the tea. I love the Republic of Tea flavors -- they're very special. And I have that same Friendly Village mug. My "collection" of Friendly Village is truly minuscule -- that mug and a large round platter. I hope eventually to add to it.

TJ's has so many great food items and don't know how I missed these? I love pretzels with anything covered over them. The Santa tin is adorable. OMG I brought last year four of the cups from a thrift store and know their pattern so that's for sharing the info. I'm drinking my morning tea with one today!
