Mini-Daffodil in Musashi's Garden |
- Last year when I went daffodil hunting in the grocery stores, I found mini-daffodils in a pot at Trader Joes. When they had bloomed themselves out I took them out of the little pot and planted them in a big pot outside. I thought if they lived, maybe they would bloom again, but really didn't expect success. Surprise! I've been watching for weeks. Lots of green, but no bloom when WOW. All of a sudden there was one blooming mini-daffodil. Too cute! More on the way!
I have a nice crop of dandelions growing in my little garden.
- I was hoping all the rain from last week was over. Alas, that isn't true. It's been raining again and this time with thunderstorms. The kitties don't like the thunder. Can't blame them. The trees are doing their "thing". Pollen everywhere. Cars are covered with yellow dust. Sniff, sniff, sniff.
- When the rain ends the mosquitoes will be here in abundance. UGH. I guess I needed something to complain about!
- I'm reading A DRAGON'S GUIDE TO THE CARE AND FEEDING OF HUMANS by Laurence Yep and Joanne Ryder. It should be no surprise to anyone that my grandson likes dragons almost as much as his Nana. I, of course, have to read his dragon books first in order to give the Nana stamp of approval.
Wishing YOU well and much joy.
A BIG thank you to Nancy for hosting Random 5 Friday.

Dandelions get such a bum rap. They are one of my favourite little flowers. And so easy to grow, LOL! Happy Spring to you!
What a lovely little daffodil and what a wonderful way to greet the first day of spring! It sort of balances out all that yellow air.
Sweet little flower, they are so full of hope aren't they ?
I so remember reading to my son when he was a little boy...
What a lovely daffodil. I always plant any potted bulbs that I buy for some indoor colour in the garden afterwards. It would feel wrong to throw them in the rubbish. And normally they reward my work by establishing themselves in a little corner of the garden that needs a spot of colour come early spring. My main problem is the Wonder Dog, who thinks it's great sport to dig them up again. He was sick yesterday because he ate a hyacinth bulb. The Wonder Dog, like your cats, is not a big fan of thunder. All the best for a lovely weekend, Bonny
i didn't know that about dandelions . . another thing to enjoy about them . . and the mini-flower is breathtaking.
Happy day!
We love dandelions - ours are the last to bloom because we have so much shade - they don't last long either. In the countryside there are vast fields of them - totally yellow - love love love them. I'm glad your sweet little daffodils came back.
Beautiful picture of a famous flower! I like the whites more than the yellows.
My big allergic sniff sniff comes later, but it comes -
Beautiful daffodils. yesterday I saw the teeniest daffodils in the store...I had no idea they could be that small.
Blessing and I are big dragon story fans ourselves.
And what did you think of the book? Happy Spring, in all of its blessings and challenges!
What a lovely daffodil! And what a great surprise to welcome spring! I plan to go to the mountains tomorrow where daffodils grow wild. I'm hoping to see lots of them! Reading to a young one is one of my favorite things to do! I kept my kids' books and now I'm reading them to my grands. So fun!
All plants have their importance, even the lowly dandelion :)
Nice Random 5. I love Trader Joes!
Sweet moni daffodil. Always good to have the Nana stamp of approval. Nana's are the best. Mine sure was. xox
I guess I am going to have to move to find a Trader Joes..LOL I've never been in one.
Good job giving your stamp of approval on the books. Your mini daff--the gift that keeps on giving! I've not seen any dandelions yet. I guess it won't be long until everything is covered in pollen. Oh well, better than snow again!
Beautiful daffodil!! I love those. Our neighbors have dandelions. We used to but we now spray our yard twice a year which I HATE but we found out that our neighbor was spraying ors when we weren't home with very toxic spray. We now use an organic company with less toxic stuff.......so they say
