I'm joining Nancy at Rural Journal for Random 5 Friday.
Do you have a bucket list?
One of the things on my list is tulips.
Yes, tulips.
I've often thought it would marvelous to see the tulip fields in the Netherlands.
I also figure it would be easier for me to visit the tulip fields in the Pacific North West.
Like this:
This is a postcard of the Wooden Shoe Tulip Farm in Woodburn, Oregon.
The photo was taken by Jon Gnass and I found the image in TULIPS OF THE NORTHWEST:
A Postcard Book.
Can you imagine?
Field after field of tulips.
Heaven on earth!
(Thank you to the lovely Beth for hosting Postcard Friendship Friday)

I went to the grocery store and while there decided to check out the cut flowers.
I found more daffodils.
They were a little past their prime, but I couldn't resist.
Along with the daffodils, the Easter decorations were half off.
Now I ask you -- how could I pass up a bunny wearing tennis shoes?

One of my favorite cozy mystery series is The White House Chef by Julie Hyzy.
FONDUING FATHERS is the latest in the series.
Fun characters, good background story, good mystery, believable amateur sleuth.
Highly recommend but be sure you start with the first one
and read them in order.

The garden fairies are very happy.
The Gardenias have started to bloom in Musashi's Garden.

I'm going to the zoo today.
It is going to be on the cool side with low humidity.
Perfect!
Wishing YOU well and much joy!
Good Morning Snap, There is nothing which says Spring more than daffodils and tulips and you have both today.
ReplyDeleteI have visited Keukenhof near Amsterdam and it is a beautiful place, but I have to say looking at your photograph of the field of tulips, the flowers are really stunning aswell.
I love the perfume from gardenias, but I really have problems growing them here in England....but they grew well in Cyprus and if I cast my mind back I can smell their beautiful perfume.
Enjoy your day at the zoo....it reminds me of the song "We're all going to the zoo tomorrow" but for the life of me I cannot think who sang the song.
Have a lovely weekend.
Best Wishes
Daphne
That gardenia is gorgeous. I would love to be able to smell its lovely scent.:)
ReplyDeleteAs always, such beautiful photographs. And you're so right -- how could you pass up a bunny wearing tennis shoes?!? Yee Haw!!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the zoo!! xo
I love Tulips and we want to visit the tulip fields in Netherlands, not far away from our place, mainly because now the weather is better and we finally have Spring! :)
ReplyDeleteLovely pictures!
Happy Friday!
hugs
Léia and little LUNA
Lovely tulips, for sure. I rarely see them here in south Texas.
ReplyDeleteHave fun at the zoo! Keep dry! It's going to be a stormy day in my neck of the woods!
ReplyDeleteBirth was the death of him...hahahahha...cute! Reminds me of the joke I heard this week: When I was born, I was so surprised that I didn't talk for a year and a half.
ReplyDeleteHave you been seeing the tulip fields on some of the blogs? The Happy Wonderer did a post yesterday and Judy did on earlier at My Front Porch. Perhaps hers is the more realistic view. ☺
Enjoy the zoo on this cooler, most perfect day!
I really need to go to the Pella Tulip Festival in Iowa someday -- it's not that far away! Love that postcard and tulips and daffodils.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for sharing with us today! xo
Your flower pics are gorgeous! I hope you enjoy your trip to the zoo!

The White House chef mystery series sounds very good!
ReplyDeleteI never knew that Oregon was a big tulip grower, thanks for that. I would love to see the tulips in the Netherlands too but Oregon seems much more do-able. Cute bunny/egg/sneakers.....I even have a couple of daff's blooming too! Enjoy your beautiful garden. xox

ReplyDeleteLOL, the bunny with tennis shoes is hysterical! My Dad has a large Gardenia bush, well actually two cause some years back he divided it. Now mind you, he talks plants into growing. He's had the main bush for 30 some years!! When it blooms it smells heavenly.
