Today I'm celebrating Earth Day.
Last year there were no butterflies in my garden.
I blame the horrible drought.
But this year, this fellow came to visit.
I had to take his portrait shooting through the patio doors.
Good thing they were sort of clean.
Isn't he handsome?
I'm so glad he liked the zinnia.
How are you going to celebrate Earth Day?
I'm going to walk to Reckling Park and watch a college baseball game.
I'm going to make my walk a treasure hunt.
I'll make it up as I go along!
Did you know that one person taking a shorter shower could save 20 gallons of clean drinking water?
Just think, if thousands of people did the same the gallons would really add up.
It's the little things.
Thank you to:
and the wonderful hosts of Our World.
Wishing YOU well and much joy!
Awesome photos!!!
ReplyDeleteThe beauty of nature and I always appreciate how long a butterfly will stay in one place -- usually long enough for us to enjoy the beauty.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly saving water this Earth Day with no fully functioning bathroom -- no showers to be had for 2 weeks. And with all of us at home now (guys home from school) that's a lot of water saved!
Beautiful series of photos! Hope you have a wonderful Earth Day. I do believe if my son took shorter showers, he could save 40 gallons of clean drinking water.
ReplyDeleteYour pictures are perfect and I love the collage, very artistic compositions!
ReplyDeleteCheers to Earth Day!
hugs and purrs
a nice weekend for you!
Léia and little LUNA
Beautiful Monarch pictures. I've had a steady stream of these beauties through my garden this spring, very unlike last year.
ReplyDeleteWhat better way to celebrate a special day than by watching a baseball game? Happy Earth Day!
I always like to see butterflies captured on flowers. Beautiful job.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know it was earth day. Good thing I am reading blogs.
ReplyDeleteYour photos are fabulous! Awesome! Thank you for your lovely and kind visit to me. Happy Earth Day.

Your windows are more than clean, they reflect a wonderful site. Thank you so much for sharing it with us.
ReplyDeleteExquisite!
ReplyDeleteYes, it's the little things that, when gathered together, make a huge impact - and we're all capable of doing these little things.
It was very thoughtful of this lovely creature to pose for you and you captured his colors and delicacy so well! Happy Earth Day. Linda
ReplyDeleteGreat shots of the Monarch!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous photos & mosaics Snap! I can't believe what wonderful photos those are shot thru the glass! Happy Earth Day :)
ReplyDeleteHi Snap
ReplyDeleteI also think we have to save water. We take a bath instead of shower everyday. So I use the rest of bath water for washing.
We have to save electricity, too. After 3.11.rately all nuclear power plants were stopped. So during hot summer electric power may run short.
Cheers to Erath Day.
Wonderful you caught him this way!
ReplyDeleteIt is Google that reminded me of Earth Day, I just did not know anything about this. So I have been celebrating it by reading on this on my computer.
Happy Sunday!
Jacoba

ReplyDeleteHappy Earth Day! Such a graceful monarch.
ReplyDeleteHow did I celebrate? We went to the Los Angeles River and we saw a few homeless and all the trash along the banks.
Next week will be clean up time for the group, Friends of the LA River.
Cassie looks so cute in your other post!

ReplyDeleteI live in the desert, and am reclaiming rainwater, and also grey water.
Beautiful nature for Earth's Day! Nothing prettier than butterfly and flower!
ReplyDeleteWOW! Those are extraordinary photos! Butterflies are one of God's most beautiful and delicate creations :) I used to have a bush in the yard that they congregated on and my neighbor said it was called a butterfly bush, but I could never find it in any plant book and it didn't look like the ones on the internet. It has since died and now we hardly ever see any butterflies :(
ReplyDeletewe should all cherish and nurture and look after the beautiful world around us.
ReplyDeleteWonderful images.
