Is it cool yet?

As you can tell, the sun is shining here.
We set heat records every day and
I'm getting tired of the weather!
So, in an effort to feel cooler,
I finished this little scarecrow.

Crochet Scarecrow and Pumpkin

The little scarecrow was easy to crochet.
He's lots of fun.
The design is by Sheila Leslie for Crochet World/DRG.
I purchased him as a kit from Mary Maxim.

And, NO, I don't feel cooler.
But I am smiling!

Wishing YOU well and joy filled day!

For those who might be interested, I found a pattern for
a scarecrow online that is very similar to the one I made.

  3. We just keep hearing about the heat in your area. This summer has been brutal for your part of the country. I hope you get a break before too much longer. Fall has to bring some cooler temps.

Your little scarecrow is so cute. Maybe he'll bring some relief.

  4. Very cute scarecrow. :-)

I know that a lot of the country is battling major heat waves and setting records right and left, and I don't envy those folks, but.....

It's mid-August and here in the PNW we've had very little to call 'summer'. There's the hint of change in the air already (cool mornings - only 52 this morning), and it's getting late in the season for us to have any serious heat.

So many veggies in need of warm weather to ripen. So many I'm afraid won't get the chance.

  7. Hi Snap, Does your blog come up on Facebook? If so--how????

Hope you do cool off soon down there. We finally have some cooler weather today--but you don't need to hear that....

    Love the little scarecrow...
    Hugs,

  8. Pumpkin pie and trick or treaters, crunching through leaves and cool mornings. There - did that help? I don't really want to think about the harvest just yet, I have a lot of summer to squeeze out still!

  9. Smiling can make you feel cooler (even if it can't I believe in the power of positive thinking..*snort*).

Love this little guy...you are so talented with the needles!
