A Whole Lot of Something

It is too hot and humid here.
Not fit for man or beast or the garden.
So, when the latest email from Pier One arrived,
I thought it might help cool me down.
Christmas in July!

Already?!
Pier One Email

So far, the cooling down hasn't worked!

2. Last week I was opening my first box from My Texas Market.
This week the kitties are opening their Kit Nip Box.

Kit Nip Box

No surprise that Mina was the first to check it out.
She went directly for the cat-nip elephant.

It didn't take long for Cassie and Teddy to join in the fun.

3. A whole of something has been going on in the water garden.

Toads

I wonder if the fish will eat the eggs???

4. In the atrium, an anole was knocking at the door.

Anole

"It's hot out here! Let me in!"

5. I finished another lovie.
This time a panda.

Panda Lovie

His eyes are a little wonky and his grin is lopsided,
but not bad for the first try.

So far, I've made three owls -- all delivered far and wide.
Have another owl to make and then I think I might try a puppy.

Wishing YOU well and much joy!

  5. I love the panda, such a great idea for little ones. I am a sun worshipper but the humidity is a killer, I am thinking Christmas in July but it is not helping.

  6. The panda is adorable. One of my goals is to learn to knit or crochet little animals for new babies. So much more interesting than a blanket.
Lots going on around your place, even in the heat. We haven't had much heat. It's been sunny though, and mainly dry until this morning. Stay cool!

  19. The soft critters are my favorite. Those spiky or slimy ones are a little creepy. Hope you get relief from the hot and humid!

  22. you look like you have found some fun things to keep you occupied in this heat, it's all about attitude. i always have plenty of fun things to keep me busy indoors, looking outside at the blue skies and sunshine is enough to keep me happy!!

the panda's are adorable, small imperfections make them unique and special!! if you saw these at a thrift store in 30 years (maybe we should go with 20 years) you would know they were yours.....and that my friend, is a beautiful thing!!!

    many thanks for visiting me!!!

  24. Cutest ever crochet. I love the idea of the kitty box, we got bark box here for a while and they are tearing into the toys with fun abandon. Even we were hot here 95 ish which for us is like being in the swamp. I'm sure we'll never catch up with you all there in Texas though. xox
