Why Be In A Hurry?

Did you have a nice holiday weekend?
Hot dogs and hamburgers?

No hot dogs here, but I did have a turkey burger
and some delicious macaroni salad and a beer (or two).
I watched the 4th of July festivities on TV .. beautiful!
How do people stand being out in the heat??!!

I have taken the red, white and blue buntings off of the balcony.
The Uncle Sam windsock has been replaced by a bright red flag
with a large sun, cactus and red pepper ...
a colorful message that the HOT summer has arrived!

**

TeaVivre sent me samples of their Spring Green Teas.
I love the TeaVivre packaging ... really sealed!
The first one I tried is La Shan Yun Wu.
Opening the package I could immediately smell the tea ...
sort of a roasted spinach odor.

The dried leaves have an interesting texture.
Really dark green.

Before Brewing

I like brewing the TeaVivre samples in my little red pot.
Perfect size for the sample and it has its own strainer.
I can lift it out, drink the tea, and steep another pot if I like.

Tea

I brewed the tea for 5 minutes.
Such a pretty light green color.

It has a chestnut flavor ... not overpowering and slightly sweet.

I haven't put up all the indoor holiday decorations yet.
Why be in a hurry?!

Morning Tea

You can see what the leaves look like after one brew.
Still delicate looking, but they really open up.
TeaVivre said this was a good large mug tea,
so I got out one of my new mugs.
This is one from a set of four given to me on my birthday
 by another of my sisters-by-choice.
She knows how I love my tea and the birds!

Tea Collage

I have a tea quote for you:

“As far as her mom was concerned, tea fixed everything.
Have a cold? Have some tea.
Broken bones? There's a tea for that too.
Somewhere in her mother's pantry, Laurel suspected,
was a box of tea that said,
'In case of Armageddon, steep three to five minutes'.”

Wishing YOU well, much joy and a wonderful cup of tea!

Thank you to the hosts of:

That's a great quote- read it out loud to hubs who had just entered the room with me laughing out loud while reading it.

Cute post, and now I need a cup of tea. : - ) Hugs.

Your tea review was interesting and it sounds wonderful. A blogger friend sent me some TeaVivre once and it was delicious. I like your new mugs and the red teapot. Enjoyed the quote too, as you know I like quotes. Thanks for sharing and joining me for tea. Have a lovely day.

Blessings,
Sandi

Hahahaha...loved the quote. My daughter might agree with Laurel. Pretty red teapot. Anything that makes life a little easier and more pleasant is a joy. No thanks on your offer. 105° is much too hot for me!

Oh, I love that last quote! Tea does fix everything...at least it makes things better. Your pictures are delightful. The red pot and that cute patriotic cat are charming! I have never tried tea from that company. I will have to look them up. Thank you for stopping by my blog!

Cute little pot and patriotic setting! :) Our 4th of July is traditionally quite hot here in western PA....this was a cooler one and I was quite happy with that! :)

I love that tea quotation from Illusions. It could be true of my own mother who really enjoys her cups of tea and offers them to anyone who stops by.

Nice to get some samples of tea and your new mug with the bird on is awesome. The quote is cute, I drink tea even on hot days here, there's always a breeze by the pond in the tea house. :-)
Thanks for linking to Mosaic Monday Sharon.

That tea looks way better than I thought it would from the leaves and your description. And the quote is sweet.... That tea cupboard covered everything!
