A favorite quote for today...
It's from the Walt Whitman poem O ME! O LIFE!
"...The question, O me! so sad, recurring - What good amid these, O me, O life?
Answer.
That you are here - that life exists and identity,
That the powerful play goes on, and you may contribute a verse."
It may sound familiar especially if you have seen the Apple commercials.

One of my favorite things...
This is a Miltonia Orchid, sometimes called a pansy orchid.
When I brought her home from Trader Joe's she had one flower spike opened.
She now has two more spikes open and 2 more coming.
She is quite impressive and fragrant!

Wishing YOU well and much joy.
A big thank you to Nancy for hosting.
I wish Trader Joes wasn't 3-4 hours away . . .
ReplyDeleteI liked your Whitman . . .
Very much enjoyed your post. I was glad to be reminded of St Patricks day. I had actually forgotten all about that and now that you have reminded me, I thought of something fun to do about this with my grandson who is going to be staying with me over spring break. So fun. also , love your teapot. I have quite a large collection of tea pots, and really enjoy tea. Happy day!
ReplyDeleteOH this is ironic, I'm working on a future post, filled with orchid photos, and here you have shared a beauty too!!
ReplyDeleteLove the tea pot in your post, and your Eastery/Springy header is lovely.
I had never heard the name "pansy orchid' before . . . it's lovely . .
ReplyDeleteHappy Friday!
Gorgeous orchid! A really great Random 5 and have a fun weekend :)
ReplyDeleteCorned beef and cabbage are not among my favourite foods (which makes me glad to not be Irish!).
ReplyDeleteI do love tea though, and that teapot is gorgeous.
Tea tasting sounds like a fun thing to do, but please don't get too jitter with so much caffeine :)
ReplyDeleteSnap,
ReplyDeleteI like the festive St. Pat's Day postcard. Very vintage.
I hope you share your Granny Square creations and have fun taste testing new teas.
Your Miltonia Orchid is a fun way to "think spring."
I am counting the days until corned beef! I love hearing that apple commercial, it's Robin Williams from Dead Poety's Soceity, isn't it? Love that movie. I have to remember to stop by Trader Joe's for flowers. We got one in town not long ago. Have a great weekend!
ReplyDeleteMercifully, there is more to St. Pat's day...soda bread for one! Tea is liquid wisdom...love that line. You would have laughed to hear my grandson trying to drink his wee bit of tea..."I just can't get it down the hatch." Your orchid is spectacular!
ReplyDeletewe have a great st paddy's festival downtown...can't wait!
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Snap! I am not a corned beef fan but I am Irish and I love cabbage and potatoes, I substitute kielbasa for the corned beef.. :) Looking forward to your Granny Squares! A pansy orchid.. how cool. She must be happy at your house!
ReplyDeletePretty flower, and tea tasting how wonderful, have a great weekend...
ReplyDeleteI always like to make corned beef and cabbage for St. Patrick's Day. I usually listen to Irish music too.
ReplyDeleteOh my Grandma was Irish so I will be happy on that day:)
ReplyDeleteGranny squares would be fun to make.
Your photos are incredible.
Think I will enter Nancy's soap draw thanks I forgot. Hug B
Tea is my favourite beverage! That orchid is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteOh yum - corned beef and cabbage! Your flower is pretty, and if it smells nice that's a great little bonus. March is national crochet month? I guess I need to get busy! Have a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage postcard !
ReplyDeleteI love granny squares, my grandmother had the best blanket made of those...but I have no idea how to make them.
ReplyDeleteCreating and tasting and enjoying life....you found it all this week!!
ReplyDeleteYour teapot almost looks like it was made from wood. I love how you capture the center of flowers too.
ReplyDeleteCorned beef and cabbage and don't forget the Irish Soda Bread. Forgot is only 10 days way. :)
ReplyDeleteA tea taster, that sounds delightful.
ReplyDeleteCorned beef and cabbage. Is it that time of year again? My how time goes by. Great post.
ReplyDeleteThe Miltonia orchid is just lovely. What rich, deep color! And your teapot is intriguing. Fun post!
ReplyDeleteThat tea pot is beautiful and I would be excited also to taste test tea.
ReplyDeleteI want a pansy orchid!
what a unique and pretty teapot. My mother grows orchids. She often has a beautiful one blooming.
ReplyDeleteLove vintage PC's. I recently purchased a lot of vintage flower PC on EBay. The photo of St. Patrick's Day one is lovely.
ReplyDeleteLove the vintage post card -- and thanks for the shout out on the giveaway. I wish you much luck!
ReplyDeleteI killed two orchids last year and decided I'm too heavy-handed for such dainty things. I hope yours survives and brings you much joy in the years to come. xo
I'm looking forward to seeing your crochet squares. Who knew there was a special month for crochet work!
ReplyDeleteSo, you have an orchid blooming. Dang, I am so impressed, I can't tell you! I love orchids. Have never tried to grow one. I figured they would be difficult.
ReplyDeleteGosh I wish we had a Trader Joes around here! Good luck in the contest...I always enter and never win...but I keep trying! LOL! Have a great day!
ReplyDeleteI love your randoms. That is a beautiful orchid. One I'm not familiar with.
ReplyDeleteMy Irish roots loves the postcard!
ReplyDeleteSuch a lovely teapot. I can't help but think it looks like a genie's lamp. :) I love it.
I definitely can see where the orchid gets it name. Beautiful.
Thanks so much for your sweet comments on my Random 5!
You have a gorgeous orchid. Enjoy your taste testing and good luck in Nancy's contest, but I hope I win. :)
ReplyDeleteAh, the Miltonia Orchid sure is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteNice set of random thoughts.
ReplyDeleteWhat fun to be in a tea tasting.
That orchid is gorgeous and I can see why it would be referred to as a "Pansy" face orchid.
Pretty orchid. I've heard they take some work to get to thrive, so I've never tried one. I do hope you find some wonderful teas!
