Postcard Friendship Friday

Our lovely postmistress, Marie, is the hostess for Postcard Friendship Friday.

Today she posted a little girl with a canary.

I didn't find a canary or a little girl with a bird, but I did find this...

    Gorgeous colour...I read a novel about Audubon a number of years ago. He was an "interesting" man to say the least.

    Bee-oo-tee-ful! I love birdwatching but for some reason they scare me. Their sharp beaks, clutching claws. I think one day I will try to keep one as a pet (a parrot?!) so that I can lose that fear as I love what they represent and am fascinated watching them go about their business.

    Audubon was the most wonderful artist, I think. I'm especially fond of his flowers, but this is beautiful!

    Would we call that group a conversation of parrots? Wonderful card. I see flocks of parrots here once in a while. They are wonderful to watch - just don't park your car under them or have them settle in your own yard.

    Great card, Audubon beautifully paints the social nature of parrots, I can almost hear them squawking.

    Such a lovely image - I can hear the squawks too. Audobon "interesting"? Off to wikipedia I go.

    Another, sadder note: these birds are also known as the carolina parakeet and sadly the are extinct.
