Postcard Friendship Friday

I'd like to thank our lovely postmistress Marie for putting Postcard Friendship Friday together.
Be sure to visit her to see the other participants.

Does this look familiar to you?
Can you hear the theme song playing in your mind?

We visited Lake Tahoe several years ago.
Near where we were staying was the amusement park
The Ponderosa Ranch.
On the North Shore of Beautiful Lake Tahoe

Who was your favorite Cartwright?
I liked big brother Adam, then there's Little Joe,
Dad Ben and of course, Hoss.
Here they are in front of the Ranch House.

The Ranch House of the Cartwrights
showing the exterior, living room,
and Ben's Office.
"This legendiary home has authentic antiques
and furnishings gathered from around the world."
(From the back of the postcard.)

This may be my favorite postcard of the Ponderosa Village
at Incline Village, Nevada.
I love the view of Lake Tahoe in the background.

Every time we go someplace new, I buy postcards. I even send a few out to friends and occasionally send one to myself. Memories!

  1. I used to watch this on Sunday evenings in Montreal with my parents.
it was on after the Ed Sullivan Show.
Since the advent of cable tv with 100+ channels, we can see it now on Lonestar TV.
i liked Adam - but I've never had a waist as tiny as his.Did you know that he wore a corset?

  3. We did not have a TV in our home as a youngster, but we did occasionally get to watch at a neighbor's home. I can hear the tune, but I don't remember the name of the program.

  5. I always loved watching Bonanza, and sometimes still do on cable. My favorite was Hoss and Little Joe.

Your postcards are wonderful. I still send postcards out whenever I go somewhere also, and like you, I send one to myself occasionally. If you go to my blog, keepsake letters you will see one that I sent to myself in 2006 from Jackson Hole, WY.

  6. Neat Snap.... I had no idea where Bonanza was filmed. I loved them all--but I guess Hoss was my fav. Of course, Little Joe was pretty special also. GREAT show. They just don't make them like that anymore.

    Thanks!
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. I am dating myself here, but at the time of this show we did not have cable and we lived in a valley and only got one station - not the one carrying Ponderosa.

  8. I didn't know Adam wore a corset. Learn something new everyday. I had to google on Bonanza. It was on 14 years and was one of the first television shows to be filmed and shown in color. Betsy, you are right ... they don't make them like that anymore.

  9. My parents were pretty strict on what shows we could watch and Bonanza was THE show for Sunday night along with a couple of others. Homework had to be done before the seven of us circled around the TV for this show. I was so in love with Adam...dark and that wry smile. I just couldn't figure out how HopSing could keep up with all those guys!

  10. Dum-diddle-um-diddle-um-diddle-um-diddle-um-dum! Dum- Dum! :p)
How absolutely hilarious we were thinking along the same lines today, Snap. My fave was Little Joe, of course because he was mad hot. (Second to you-know-who...) But I have to say, I loooooved Hoss. I wanted to cuddle him up! I liked Adam, too, but he was too aloof for me. And they never gave him the good storylines! What was that about?? Great post. I want to go see that little village!

  11. Posts with a theme are always more intersting to me. Cowboys of the West still have a romantic aura about them.
