Time just seems to fly!
It's Saturday and Camera Critters time!
The livestock show and rodeo has started.
We went to the livestock show last week for the first time in 25 years and had a ball. In fact we had so much fun, we are going back next week. If you want to see more of our adventures, you'll have to visit on a day other than Saturday for the rest of the pictures!
The first critters we met were the two legged variety. They were everywhere! Mostly inner city kids who had no idea what/who livestock are.
I'm sure they had never seen a live turkey.
They are lucky if they see a turkey for Thanksgiving dinner.

You can't imagine just how huge the brahmans are.
Take it from me -- HUGE doesn't begin to describe them.
And they have the most beautiful brown eyes.
Happy Weekend Everyone!

Those brahmans are gorgeous! I have never seen one before. :) I love the bluish hides! :)
ReplyDeleteBrahmans are big! They look gentle, but my husband recalls one no-so-gentle bull that tried to chase him over a six-foot fence!
ReplyDeleteI LOVE livestock shows. I just love animals in general. I would take them all home and start a farm if I could. A big dream of mine, because I grew up on a ranch with animals, and I would love to have that again.
ReplyDeleteThanks for taking me with you to the livestock show! I enjoyed it.
I do love the Brahma bulls. They are magnificent and yes, they do have the loveliest eyes.
ReplyDeleteBeing in a cow barn or livestock show brings back fond memories of my grandmother's farm in Maryland.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
It does look like a great adventure! :)
ReplyDeleteGreat photos !!!
ReplyDeleteI agree with you, I think that there are a lot of city kids that never get to see real, live farm animals. We took a group of kids on a field trip, last year, to Carson City. The route from Reno to CC, passes through Washoe Valley, where you get to see farm animals. I was a little taken back, when one kid pointed at a cow and asked me what it was !!!
OOPS!!! Forgot to switch to my account. That last comment from 'Jay' was actually me!!
