It's Looking Like Fall

It's looking like fall ...

inside the house.

And, outside the house
(even though the temps are still in the 90s).

I keep hoping the fall decorating will make me feel cooler!

In a further attempt to make myself feel "cool",
I'm making this:

The yarn may look familiar.
I made a scarf from the same color-way.
I love how Scarfie by Lion Brand feels
and it is easy to work with. 
You can't beat patterns from Mama In A Stitch.

Whenever fall decides to arrive, I'll be ready!

Try To Remember

After ten days of cloudy weather.
today the sun is shining.
The light is changing to the wonderful light of Autumn.

The spicebush swallowtail made an appearance 
on the lantana in Musashi's Garden. 

I found a lovely collage on FB that included some of the lyrics to

I'm aging myself I'm sure when I say I remember
Harry Belafonte signing this lovely song.

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow.

When grass was green and grain was yellow.

A little over a year ago this is what it looked like around Twisty Lane.
I send thoughts and prayers to the good folk in North Carolina.

Let The Sunflowers Shine!

I love sunflowers.

These are from TJs.

I bought 5 stems of each kind.

For me,
the appearance of sunflowers at the market means
fall can't be far behind.

Breakfast at Eclair Paris French Bistro.
It's so handy -- right across the street.
I'll never starve! 
I try to visit at least once a week.
The road construction has made things difficult for the Bistro.
I want to keep them in business!

I take a book with me every time I go --
unless I'm meeting with someone.

Crazy Rich Asians is a wild ride.
Entertaining.
I enjoyed it and, believe it or not, 
it reminded me of some folks that have been in my life!
I ordered the next two in the series.
I have to find out what happens with Rachel and Nick.
I may have to see the movie!

Fairies In The Garden

This time of year the dragonflies are plentiful around the pond.
They are so small I call them fairy-flies.
It's easy to believe that they are fairies flying around the garden.
I've never been successful in catching a good shot of them until this year.

Look!

I had to shoot through the glass patio doors.

Tiny little things guaranteed to make one smile!

I made my weekly trek to the grocery
and this is the first thing I saw.

Guess I'm not the only one anxious for fall!

Another Row, Another Row

It's much too hot to do anything but stay at home.
So, I've been working on holiday gifts.
I finished knitting this scarf.

I used a free pattern called Honeycomb that I found at
Mama In A Stitch.

The yarn is Scarfie, the Charcoal/Aqua color way
by Lion Brand.
It's so soft, I may not be able to give it away!

Giggle...
I've been singing this all day!
I hope it will make me feel cool.
