Scavenger Hunt Sunday

1. Birds

Flamingo collage

Flamingos at the Houston Zoo.
It is baby time and this little grey fluff is the first one of the season.
He was determined to keep his "back side" as his good side!

2. Beach

Shell

This was the closest I could come to one of my favorite places ... the beach!
I'll just have to dream on.....

3. Bridge

Bridge in the Japanese Garden in Hermann Park, Houston
I love the reflections.

4. Bottom

Mina: Lynx Point Siamese

This is Mina when she first came to live with me (and Teddy and Cassie).
I think her little "bottom" is cute -- with her manx tail!

5. Butterfly

Happiness is a Butterfly

This is from 2009.
Cosmos in Musashi's Garden.
It was a good year for the Monarch butterfly.

Wishing YOU well and much joy!

Must Be a Tasty Treat To Go To All That Trouble

You can believe your eyes.
These images are right side up.

Squirrel

The squirrel is upside down.
Hanging from his hind legs.
Chowing down on the leftover, drying blooms of the crepe myrtle.

Unfortunately, Fall Didn't Last Very Long

The weekend brought a hint of things to come.
Lows in the high 60s and highs in the mid 80s.
Low humidity.
Perfect walking weather.
Off to my village I went and breakfast.

Breakfast

A Tex-Mex omelet.
A book.
And a little pocket Buddha.

The Buddha reminds me to slow down and be grateful.
Be grateful for the farmers who grew the corn and beans,
who raised the chickens for the eggs, the wheat for the bread,
the raspberries for the jam, who picked the leaves for tea,
the chefs who prepared the food, the cashier who took my order,
the nice young man who clears the tables.

You get the idea.

Unfortunately, fall didn't last very long ...
it only lasted two days,
but it was a hint of things to come!

Wishing YOU well and much joy!

I Couldn't Resist

Sometimes it good to NOT listen to oneself.
I told myself that I would not buy/look at any newly made teacups.
Then I went to Homegoods with one of my sisters-by-choice
and there it was ....
This beautiful black and white toile/transferware trio.
I couldn't resist.

Tea Trio

Square Plate and Cup and Saucer with floral design and birds!

Tea Cup

It is called Adelaide Grey by 222FIFTH.
Tea tastes wonderful in this cup and I had a nice salad on the plate.
Perfect.

In addition, I had a couple of wonderful mail calls.
Bigelow had a give-a-way on Face Book.
They gave away tins filled with Constant Comment to celebrate
their 70th anniversary.
I have fond memories of drinking Constant Comment.
My mother and I would visit with a good friend and her daughter at least
once a week and drink Constant Comment -- and read tea leaves!
They also included a sample of Green Tea with Pomegranate
(delicious).

Tea Collage

The other mail call was from Angela at Tea With Friends.
She gave-a-way a fun teapot tea strainer and a tote bag.
A girl can never have enough tote bags.
She finds the most wonderful tea things.

Tea Collage

I've had a tea-riffic time!

“I take a few quick sips. "This is really good." And I mean it. I have never tasted tea like this. It is smooth, pungent, and instantly addicting.

"This is from Grand Auntie," my mother explains. "She told me 'If I buy the cheap tea, then I am saying that my whole life has not been worth something better.' A few years ago she bought it for herself. One hundred dollars a pound."

"You're kidding." I take another sip. It tastes even better.”
