Tea With The Ghouls

In a few days it will be Halloween.
It is the perfect day for tea with the ghouls.

Tea With The Ghouls
My Favorite Halloween Card

Let's start with the treat first -- a key lime cupcake.

Tea in a fancy orange decorated cup found at Anthropologie.

If tea isn't enough for the ghouls,
perhaps a specially prepared punch
served from this pitcher will do.

Happy Halloween!

OWLing Time!

Halloween is just around the corner and it's time to invite the
OWLS for tea!

hOWLing

One of the local tea houses has owl tea cups.
Every time I visit with them I pick the owl cup for my tea.
Mr. Dragon searched and searched and found the teapot and teacup set.
He knew how much I enjoyed tea with the owls!
It is one of my most precious possessions.
I can't help but think about Mr. Dragon and all the love we shared when I use this set.
It brings a very big smile to my face.
He would like to know I'm smiling and laughing.

Owls for Tea

How about a cup of chai and a pumpkin muffin?
Sounds good to me!

Keep Calm And Drink Tea

It's been raining.
One of those slow, soul clearing, nice to walk in rains.
Three days now.
Cool temps --- 80s instead of 90s.
Nice!
Perfect for tea drinking and reading.

Keep Calm And Drink Tea

I saw the teapot on a blog and began the search for one.
Months later I was in Marshalls walking through the clearance section and
there it was.
Grabbed it ... $2.99!

Keep Calm And Drink Tea

The Royal Worcester cup and saucer is another find from The Guild Shop.

Keep Calm And Drink Tea

I love the handle, the gold accents, the lovely flowers.

English Breakfast

Pretty in the pot!
Two Leaves Tea Company announced a new line of affordable "luxury" teas
They are traditional English Style paper teabags (no tag or string)
with tea that's organic and fair trade certified.
I was asked by Stephanie at Steph's Cup of Tea
if I would taste test three of the new teas and I said yes!

Today I'm sharing the English Breakfast Tea and Decaf English Breakfast.
I let the kettle come to a boil and then let the water rest for a moment before pouring into
the pot and adding the tea.
I let the bags steep for 3 full minutes.
I thought they were both delicious with a nice full tea aroma.
I added a lemon slice and thought they were even better.
When I taste tested this tea, the weather was very hot and that means iced tea.
It was okay, but I much prefer English Breakfast hot.

Going Green

I'm going green today.

This is my new Aynsley teacup.

I found it at the Guild Shop -- a thrift shop/granny's attic shop run by the Episcopal Church.

Aynsley Teacup

Two of my favorite things:
GREEN and ROSES!

Elegant, isn't it?!!

Definitely a little finger held out at attention when I use this cup!

Aynsley Tea Saucer

I found the tea towel with its green background at Tuesday Morning.
It reminds me of some I've seen at Anthropologie.

Green Tea

More favorite things:
the color green, teapots, teacups and birds!

Tea Towel

Finally, some green tea with ginger.

Today I'm sharing the Green Tea with Ginger.
I love Green Tea and I love ginger, but I wasn't impressed with this tea.
It had a wonderful gingery aroma and the color was pleasant,
but it was too medicinal tasting for me.
I cut the kettle off before the water boiled and waited for about a minute before I added it to the tea, letting the tea steep for about 3 minutes.
Perhaps my *taster* was just off.
I kept comparing it to a matcha tea with ginger I had the week before that knocked my socks off.
An unfair comparison, I'm sure.

Next week I'll share reviews of two teas that I loved!

Tea and Honey

July is almost over.
Can you believe it?
On August 1, I'm going to take part in August Break.
It's not a total break from the world of Blog.
It works this way:
I'll share one (or more) photos here on Twisty Lane each day,
or every other day, or whenever I feel like it
for the whole month of August.
I might even slip in a real post or two every now and then.
A little break from the pressures and expectations of regular blogging.
It's also a chance to meet other Bloggers who are enjoying the August Break.
I also have plans for the month of August
(also known as UGHUST because of the heat and humidity).

I'm going to be hooking in August.
My fingers are itching and I have plenty of WIPs to finish.

I'm going to read.
After I finish my guilty pleasure BONE APPETIT, I'm going to start THE BEEKEEPER'S LAMENT.
How's that for a lead-in to Tea and Honey?!!!

Tea and Honey

I've shared the teapot with you before.
It is part of a tea for one.
But I hadn't shared the cute little cup and saucer.

Mug Rug

I made another mug rug.
Changed it around just a bit.

Mug Rug

This is my new Buddha mug.
It is huge -- 24 oz should get me started in the morning!
It's so big, it doesn't fit on the mug rug!

Buddha Mug

You can see the Coventry mark on the bottom.

I've been enjoying White Peach Wuyi Oolong tea by Stash.
Yes, I know ... it's tea bags, but it's good!

Stash White Peach Oolong Tea

I keep forgetting to share the photos from my 2012 Sereni - Tea calendar.
Gorgeous photos and lovely quotes.
This is from July.

Tea For One

A dear friend and I had a late breakfast at The Avalon Diner.
Next door to the diner is a fun shop called The Frog At Home.
We couldn't pass up checking it out!
Look what I found.

Tea For One

Isn't it fun?
It made me smile -- instantly -- and I kept smiling all the way home
-- my new little Tea For One in hand.

Tea For One

I had to have the salt and pepper shakers, too!
Such wonderful, bright, cheery colors.

Tea for One

Each piece has a mark that reads:♥Babs

I was getting ready to pour tea and have a raspberry white chocolate scone when the lovely Miss Cassie decided to join me.

Itchy Fingers!

Since making my 4th of July place mats I've had itchy fingers!
I got the GHook, some Lily Sugar N Cream cotton and made a teacup coaster!

Crochet Tea Cup Coaster

While I was crocheting and dreaming of tea cups
this beauty arrived in the mail from my good buddy Deb at Just Cats.

Glencarry Thistle Tea Cup

It is the beautiful Glencarry Thistle pattern by Foley.
I love the aqua color and it fits just right on the teacup coaster!

I LOVE Mail Call!
Thank you so much Deb.
I promise to enjoy the cup and take good care of it.

My World: Tea At The Museum

The Museum of Fine Arts is having Tea on Tuesday
in conjunction with two exhibitions:
Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of the Kenwood House, London
and Unrivalled Splendor: The Kimiko and John Powers Collection of Japanese Art.

Tuesday Tea And Tour

This is the tea for the Treasures of Kenwood House, London.

Low Tea At The Museum

Lovely place settings and delicious teas and goodies
and a real treat to be served in the midst of one of the European galleries.

Menu Tea at the MFAH

I had a choice of three teas -- all organic.
Organic Earl Grey, Organic Citrus Oolong or Organic Jubilee Rooibos.
I picked the Citrus Oolong and was not disappointed.

Tea At The Museum

The goodies were all yummy:
Chicken Salad on Whole Wheat
Cucumber and Herbed Cheese on White
Blueberry Scone with Clotted Cream
Tuxedo Dipped Chocolate Covered Strawberry

Low Tea at the Museum

Before leaving for the tour associated with Kenwood House Exhibition
a glass of sparkling wine.

A lovely afternoon.

Tea With A Kitty On My Knee

It's no secret.
I love Kitties and Tea.

Tea With a Kitty On The Knee

I've been enjoying my morning tea
(this morning Bigelow Green Tea with Mint)
in my new kitty mug from Kent Pottery.

Tea With a Kitty On the Knee

The lid keeps my tea nice and warm.
The illustrations and sayings on the mug bring a smile to my face.
Mornings around here -- even on Monday -- are a happy place!

Tea With a Kitty On the Knee

The box my kitty mug came in was just too cute!
I pulled it apart and kept the illustrations and sayings.
This is an example and shows the Kent Pottery insignia with is also on the bottom of the mug.

Tea With a Kitty on the Knee

The Meow tea towel was a gift from a very dear friend of mine.
She sends me some cute feline information every now and then.
Here's an example:

WHY FELINES LOVE FEMALES

Cats are drawn to the open, social nature of women and enjoy engaging in human-to-human behaviors, such as being spoken to -- something women do more often than men, says new research. "Eventually the pair can develop day-to-day rituals akin to those of people who live together for a long time," according to study author Kurt Kotrschal, PhD.

Alice, Tea and a Winner!

I had some $$ left on my Marshall's Gift Card.
Back over to Marshall's and this is what I found...
Tea with Alice!

Alice In Wonderland Tea For One

The box was so cute, I had to share!

I put Alice right to work.

Alice In Wonderland Tea For One

With Alice and the Mad Hatter in the house --
fruit tart was called for!

Fruit Tart

Today is the last day of the Summer Give-a-way.
I promised Cassie she could pick the winner since Teddy got the job last week.
Numbers 1 - 30 were put on small pieces of paper
(number 11 removed since it was the winning number last week).
The papers were placed into a bowl and mixed up.
Then they were thrown into the air.
Cassie was present to supervise.
Once on the ground, Cassie walked over them all...
sniffing ... and finally began to play with number 10!!
Kathy at Delightsome Life is the winner!
Kathy, please send me an email with your mailing information and
congratulations!

Wishing you well, much joy and a wonderful cup of tea.

Tea, Honey And A Winner!

Tea and Honey for One

This is my TEA AND HONEY Tea For One.
The teapot holds 16 oz and the cup holds 10 oz.
Cardew Design is the distributor.
It was designed in England and made in China.
It is a very happy looking little Tea For One with the little bee on the tip of the lid!
I found this little Tea For One at Tuesday Morning.

Tea and Honey for One

Today I get to announce the first winner in the Summer Curiosities Sweepstakes!
I put numbers from 1 to 30 on slips of paper.
Folded the paper.
Placed them in a bowl.
Mixed them up.
Then tossed them into the air.
The piece of paper that landed the closest to Teddy
(who was asleep after partaking of fresh catnip)
was the winner -- number 11 --
Beth at Beyond The Garden Gate.
Beth, please email your mailing information to me
and I'll get your box of curiosities off to you.
Remember, there is one more drawing next week.
Cassie is determined that next week, she will pick the winner!

Wishing you well, much joy and a wonderful cup of tea.
