Journal Friday

It's been awhile since I've posted just journal pages. I've been spreading them around in other posts. So, today -- Just Journal Pages -- sort of!

Flower Bomb
This just fell right into place.
No thinking involved!

B is For ....
Birds and Butterflies
This took a while.
Mostly paper, a stencil, stamp, clip art.
I wanted to do this in my journal before I tried it on canvas.
I'm thinking about transferring it to cloth and making something.

Lastly, this is Teddy when he was a baby.
Always ruling the roost!
4 x 5 canvas kept simple

Enjoy your Friday.

Joy to You!

Camera Critters 68

Camera Critters

Today is a special day. It is the kitlets birthday.
Rocky and Riley are three years old.
Hard to believe that they have been with us that long.
Time flies when you are having fun!

I wanted to take new birthday photos of the siblings.
Rocky saw the camera coming and took off.
We tried and tried and caught him the kitchen waiting for a treat.
That's as good a shot as we got.
So, I decided to have some Funky Fun and Funked one of his other photos.

Here's Rocky a la Andy Warhol!

We did get a lovely shot of Miss Riley (the Impress).

Have fun today, you two!
Love,
Mom, Dad, and Theodorable

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!

Potpourri

It's Friday! Hope your week was busy, educational and fun!
Here's my journal page for the day.
Ms. Purrrrfect and Friend.
The question is:
Who is Ms Purrrrfect and who is the friend?!!

I love the words: curiosity is necessary to human nature, and especially
to you...
Also the words power and secret.
Wonder what message I was sending myself?
Whatever it is, I like it!
The kitty on the page is our Teddy and the lady can be seen at the
Seattle Museum of Art.

My gifts to Maria-Therese finally made their way out of customs.
The scarf arrived and you can see how it looks on the beautiful Maria-Therese
by visiting her here. Also, you can see the surprise that I included!

While I was reading blogs yesterday, catching up on visiting my
blogging buddies, I noticed that almost all of them had gone shopping.
Well, not to be outdone, I went to Michaels and bought some
more embroidery thread. You'd think by the looks of the picture above
that I had enough thread. NOPE. I needed three different shades of purple,
brown and yellow. I thought the thread made another nice shot
of color!

For those you who enjoy decorating blogs, antiques ...
Eddie Ross is having a give-away of berry spoons.
Click here if you are interested.
I love berries and I signed up!

One more thing: I mentioned the blog camp on the Blog of the Week post.
Here's a link to a separate blog devoted to Blog Camp!

Just a note about Blogoversaries: mine is in 27 days.
My birthday is several days before the anniversary.
I thought about 10 days before *B* day, I'd announce a give-a-way.
There will be three prizes: one for the 100th post (long ago),
one for the anniversary,
and one for my birthday.
Stay tuned!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Camera Critters 53

Starting a new year of Camera Critters!

Camera Critters

Teddy is back.
This was his original *condo*.
He loved playing in it when he was a kitten.
Then, he got too big.
Or we thought he was too big!
We never threw it away even though we got a new condo
for Teddy (Theodorable) and the kitlets.

He looks so sweet and innocent.

He is so funny *getting in*. He enters the top with
his little tail end sticking out ... sort of wriggles ...
and next thing we know ... there he is ...
all curled up in the bottom.
Happy!

Hope everyone is Happy today!
Have a beautiful weekend.
Happy Easter!
Happy Spring!

Camera Critters 44

Camera Critters

It's Camera Critters time again!

I put the newly finished baby afghan on the floor to take a picture of it.
Along came Teddy (Theodorable).
In his mind, this was a nice, new, soft blankie for him!

He is The King of our kitties.
We are his lucky staff.

I Have A Cold

What a title for a post! I Have A Cold. Well, I do. And this too shall pass. I know that. Meanwhile, I feel sorry for myself!

Quite a lead in for Surrendering to Creative Cycles, the next chapter in The 12 Secrets of Highly Creative Women by Gail McMeekin. The cold is a cycle of sorts -- it will end and I'll feel better about everything! Cycles I understand. By the time you have lived 5 decades on the earth, cycles became a part of you. Listening to the moon. Enjoying the seasons. Which brings me around to another quote I remind myself of often. It comes from Gardening At The Dragon's Gate. It goes something like this: "all four seasons of the year are present in the span of one day. Thus, spring is the dawn of the day, full summer is high noon, autumn falls at dusk and father winter oversees the midnight hour." Life is the same. I'm at the end of summer and entering autumn. I am nearing a crone and proud of it. I actually believe, at times, that I will make a terrific wise woman!

Creativity follows cycles, too. I wasn't very creative this last week and I'm blaming it on my cold, but I did get one journal page done.

This is Teddy. I moved the chair so that I could put my journal in it to take a picture. He decided that it was his chair and if any picture was to be taken it would be of him. Look at his eyes! Too funny!

Monday was the Lunar New Year 4707 - the year of the Ox. I am an Ox -- calm, hard working, with a resolve and a tenacity that at times is tiring! I didn't like how my stencils in the corners turned out -- too much paint (even though I thought I used very little) so I wrote over them.

My word for the year is LISTEN. There's a message to the cycles in my life -- LISTEN!

Happy Day Everyone!

Christmas Is Coming!

funny pictures of cats with captions
more animals

The kitty in the Santa suit looks just like our little Riley -- if Riley would let us dress her up -- same disgusted look I imagine she would have. Too funny! Have you made your list? Checked it twice? I'm heading off to the post office on Monday with the first of the boxes. I'm helping Santa!

Happy Birthday

Two year old twins/litter mates, Rocky and Riley, are celebrating their second birthday today with extra treats provided by their well trained staff.

Rocky (AKA Rocket, AKA Little Dumpling Boy) came to live at Twisty Lane first. His sister, Riley, was already promised to another client of our vet. The kittens were caught along with their mother and taken to our vet to be spayed and neutered. The kittens were left with the hope that someone would adopt the feral kittens. Their mom was taken back to the neighborhood were they were found and released -- never to have kittens again.

When the Little Dumpling Boy was a kitten he used to sleep in my lap on his back with his full little kitten belly face up just begging to be rubbed. He lived with us for six weeks before his sister arrived on the scene.

Riley

Our vet's office called one day and asked if we could take Rocky's sister. Things hadn't worked out with the elderly lady she had been promised to. Riley hid in the air ducts and wouldn't come out. I said "sure, we would take her, but I couldn't pick her up until the weekend." The tech said, "That's ok. I'll deliver her to you." That should have been our first hint what a little Imp-ress she would become. She hid under the buffet for 48 hours before Rocky lured her out to play.

Both kittens (they'll always be kittens no matter how old they are) are still a little wild. They would prefer not to be picked up, although they both seem to enjoy being petted and cooed over when they are in our arms.

We hope you'll celebrate with us by posting on your blog a little something about the critters you share your life with and wish Rocky and Riley a Happy Birthday.

Happy Birthday Rocky and Riley from Snap and Dick -- your well trained staff.
