Believe it or not, I did not have a Roslyn teacup.

Index Card A Day Finale

Today marks the end of the Index Card A Day Challenge.

This was the third year that I participated and the second year that I completed all 61 cards.

I found that I've become a better creator ... not ready to use the term artist!

When I compare this year's cards with the cards from last year, well, I've come a long way baby.

It's Friday.

Time for a look back at the week with a few

Let's get this over quickly.

It's HOT and HUMID and I don't want to talk about the electric bill.

Last year I was so excited about the butterflies that were visiting Musashi's Garden.

I haven't seen many this year.

Perhaps it was the change in weather -- first cool and then HOT??

This is the only shot I've been able to get of a butterfly stopping by to visit.

This swallowtail was in the midst of fluttering wings as he took a quick taste of the duranta.

I'm using Bloglovin now to read all of your blogs.

So far so good, but it sure seems easy to get behind.

I promise I'll catch up!

Last Saturday I made it to the Urban Harvest Farmer's Market.

What fun!

You can have breakfast there -- lots of good food available -- drinks.

Entertainment

I wanted fresh, home grown tomatoes.

There is just nothing like the taste of a home grown tomato.

Got my tomatoes and stopped by the Blue Heron Farm booth

and picked up their special of the day:

Garlic-Peppercorn Chevre.

Oh, my - Sinfully delicious!

Can't wait to hear what the special will be for tomorrow.

Splurged on an orchid.

Last, a bar of luxury shea butter soap from The Herbal Goat --

HOT FLASH (!!!) Lavender and Peppermint.

Boy, do I smell good!

On my list for this Saturday: peaches and blueberries.

This is a sketch for a larger work I'm thinking of doing.

I wanted an old, old-fashioned nature scrapbook look and came close.

Index Card A Day has started.

I decided to post my ICAD's once a week.

Here they are for June 1 - today.

I've been taking some online classes from Martha Lever and this is a good way to practice!

He is my favorite giraffe at the zoo.

He really does have a heart spot on his neck.

I got out my bits and bobs box and this is what I came up with.

I keep looking at this one and it keeps telling me it's done!

Hard to believe that the merry month of May is at an end.

Tomorrow June starts and so does ICAD -- or Index Card a Day.

ICAD is Tammy's wonderful idea.

"Buy a pack of index cards.

Cheap ones.

Draw, doodle, write, collage, paint, haiku, stamp -- whatever.

One index card each day -- June and July.

61 days = 61 cards."

I played last year starting on June 1 and made it all the way through.

The year before I didn't start until July 1.

It is fun -- you can start at any time.

No pressure.

My Rice University Owl baseball team won the Conference USA tournament
and the automatic bid to the NCAA baseball tournament.
They are off to Eugene Oregon to the regional playoffs.
They start play today.
Good luck!

This is birthday week.
Lovely lunches with family and friends.
Today a trip to the Natural History Museum to see the newly opened, remodeled, Egypt galleries.

You are going to get tired of me saying it is hot and humid, but it is!
I try to get my outside garden work done early and my away from home errands done by 10 am
spending the rest of the day with the kitties, books, crafty stuff and lots of iced tea.

This little guy came by this morning to try out the buffet.
When we lived on Galveston Island we saw the little Inca Dove almost every day.
In the big city, I don't see them often, but always smile when I do.
Such a cutie!
