Try To Remember

After ten days of cloudy weather.
today the sun is shining.
The light is changing to the wonderful light of Autumn.

Swallowtail

The spicebush swallowtail made an appearance
on the lantana in Musashi's Garden.

Swallowtail

I found a lovely collage on FB that included some of the lyrics to
Try To Remember.

Swallowtail

I'm aging myself I'm sure when I say I remember
Harry Belafonte signing this lovely song.

Swallowtail

Try to remember the kind of September
When life was slow and oh so mellow.
Try to remember the kind of September
When grass was green and grain was yellow.

Spicebush Swallowtail

A little over a year ago this is what it looked like around Twisty Lane.
I send thoughts and prayers to the good folk in North Carolina.

Hurricane Harvey

Wishing YOU well and much joy!

We've been having a lot of September rain here on the BC coast, but nothing like North Carolina has to endure. So much damage, and more to come with rising rivers. - Margy

Gorgeous photos. I know you can relate to what they are going through in the Carolinas.

NC got it far worse than we did in SC, except for Myrtle Beach area.

Oh I wish that North Carolina suffers the least possible damages! It’s here on the news too.... Your butterfly is pretty and I remember Harry Belafonte’s velvety voice. Happy MM.

We all have our weather-related burdens to bear at various times, whether flooding or forest fires caused by lightning. Praying for all those affected, and for the first responders and volunteers that are putting their lives on the line for others.

Your images are exquisite! Yes, it's sad to think about all those suffering from flooding as Texas did this time last year. I'm glad for the much needed rain that has come our way this past week. No flooding here!

Such a pretty butterfly, Snap!

We could have used some of the rain that is falling on the Carolinas. I feel sad for those affected by the storm.

Loving the mellow sweetness of your post today, I too remember the Harry Belafonte song from the '50's I think? Can it really be over a year since your town suffered from that terrible flooding, glad to know it hasn't been repeated this year.
Happy Mosaic Monday.

I love that song, Snap, and I saw the play, The Fantastics, where it was sung, back when I was in high school. I hope all is well with you!

Lovely, lovely post, Snap!
The photos themselves are stunning & the lyrics mood evoking, but the last photo brought me back to reality.
Praying for everyone affected by Florence - animals , too :}

Glorious photos. And I do love that song. It's so very poignant.

The melody of that song is playing through my head now - I remember it being sung by Nana Mouskouri. We've had a rainy September here, too, although nothing like the hurricanes and typhoons that pounded other parts of the globe. I hope you have a good week and that more pretty butterflies visit your garden.

Thanks for dropping by my blog this Monday. Have a good week

The spicebush and the lantana are sweet reminders of summer. We are into fall here in CO. In fact, in Breckenridge leaves are changing and falling rapidly because of the dryness. I thought we were coming to Houston in Oct, but we've made some alternate plans. I thought of you as I was looking for accomodations there.

Oh Snap - your butterfly pictures are amazing.

For some odd reason we don't get a lot of butterflies. We had to cut down our butterfly bush a few years ago and I just don't have enough flowers. It's always too danged hot to do gardening around here in the summer - mostly have green shrubs. So sad. I hate our weather - it's too hot and humid for six months then it is super cold, grey and snowy for most of six months. Seriously we hardly get spring and autumn anymore.

I'd move tomorrow if my husband would/could. He's still working and doing well so we're not going anywhere. But I really would if I could - but I'd have to take daughters, their husbands and my grand daughter with me, haha.

So sorry I have been MIA - life has me offline most days it seems. Hugs. ♥

Wonderful photos and I just can't imagine the devastation of floods. I know you can relate to the folks in the Carolinas. I hope no one has to go through this again.
