"I pray to the birds because I believe they will carry the messages of my heart upward.
I pray to them because I believe in their existence,
the way their songs begin and end each day --
the invocations and benedictions of Earth.
I pray to the birds because they remind me of what I love other than what I fear.
And at the end of my prayers, they teach me how to listen."
I pray to them because I believe in their existence,
the way their songs begin and end each day --
the invocations and benedictions of Earth.
I pray to the birds because they remind me of what I love other than what I fear.
And at the end of my prayers, they teach me how to listen."

Several months ago I asked you to hold Roo and her Cowboy in your hearts.
Cowboy and Mr. Dragon fought the same horrible cancer.
Cowboy has gone on to the stars.

Oh I'm so terribly sorry!
Here's to sweet lives lived and a peaceful rise to the stars. Prayers and love to you and your grieving heart, Beautiful Snap.
I love the picture and the sentiment of the poem. May it bring comfort to you and to Roo.
My heart goes out to you and your friends. A beautiful poem.
I love this line, "I pray to the birds because they remind me of what I love other than what I fear". So sad to hear about Roo and her Cowboy. Cancer is a hard, hard subject to talk about, live with and survive beyond. My own mother is now waging a war with it - a second time around for her. The first was of the skin, the second is breast. Our family is floating with the newness of it, just weeks after announcing her upcoming marriage. Her sweetie's first wife died of breast cancer so it is exceptionally hard for both of them. It's amazing how when this kind of thing strikes, how much we worry about one another and how they are coping. Could that be the ultimate "reason" behind cancer? How it tends to take us off ourselves and moan for one another? Who knows. I know it devastates and saddens. And yet we still do our best to live every moment, maybe even more so. Much love and hugs coming your way.
So sorry for this difficult moment. I'm sending love to your heart.
