Today I'm celebrating Mother's Day with
A vintage portrait of women.
The little girl with the ice cream cone.
From the back of the postcard:
"Portuguese Americans at the Festival of the Holy Ghost,
Petaluma, California, 1942
Photograph by Russell Lee"
This is from another of the wonderful Pomegranate Postcard/Artbooks
called
Gal Pals: Women's Friendship and Association
Wishing you WELL and a JOY filled weekend!

Isn't it fun to see how people dressed in the 1940s? :)
I would say that is probably my favorite of all the postcards I have seen since participating in PFF. A much gentler time! Happy PFF!
Happy Mother's Day to you. Wish you to have a grand one! :)
Lovely old card. Brings back happy memories of bygone times.
This is a wonderful postcard to tell a mother's day story. Have a wonderful weekend!
Hugs,
Kate
I like all the different facial expressions, wonder what their story is, all I can tell that ice cream is total pleasure.
Love the vintage card! Especially the cutie with the cone :)
Happy Mother's Day, Snap! Wishing you a wonderful day and every day!
What a great photo! Hope you had a wonderful Mom's Day!
I love that they are smiling and happy. In so many old photos the people look so grumpy!
Hi Snap!
Here in Portugal Mother's Day was the previous Sunday, the first of May.
I loved that photograph of Portuguese women in California, dressed up to celebrate the Holy Ghost.
I believe they originate from the Portuguese archipelago of Azores, since Azoreans are very devote of the Holy Ghost and have many celebrations in May and June.
I really enjoyed seeing this post.
Thanks
Very nice! Mine is here - Postcard Entry
