After Mr. Dragon and yours truly visited the Dinosaurs at the Houston Zoo,
we shared a drink and sat watching for any action on the pond.
It was late in the afternoon and everything was quiet.
It was late in the afternoon and everything was quiet.
No kids running around.
I saw the egret fly into the tree and thought it was probably too far away to get a good shot.
I took several shots and when I uploaded the images when I got home I found this one.
I didn't see the second egret when I took the shot.
Surprise!
Did you know that a group of turtles is called a bale?
I had to google!
Here's a bale of turtles on a very small island in the pond.
Camera Critters is hosted each Saturday by the lovely Misty.
Have a wonderful weekend.
We have a college baseball barbecue today!

neat pics! those turtles are hysterical. I can just hear them saying things like "will you stop touching me?!". hehe :D
I did not know that about a group of turtles but now I do! Love the egret photos. What beautiful, graceful looking birds.
Nice critter shots. I love the one with two egrets.
Wow - great shots! Lovely!
Your photos are amazing. Thank you for sharing. Love the bale of turtles. We learn something new every day.
I love these pics, especially the turtles!
Happy weekend!
You got some good shots of the egrets in the tree. I usually can't get close enough to them in a tree. Usually I see it when we are on the water and we can't get the boat close enough. I also learned that there is a bale of turtles, hmmm...bale of hay and a bale of turtles...go figure!
A Bale of turtles.... who knew?
A bale of turtles, that's news to me. They are quite adorable all sitting on top of one another. Egrets look unreal, almost prehistoric to me, in a beautiful way of course!
I'm always delighted when I upload and pictures and find something that I didn't notice was there when I took the shot. Lagniappe is wonderful!
Great photos and I always love those surprises that I didn't notice when taking the photo, as in the one with your second egret.
Lovely egrets! I never even thought to ask what a group of turtles was called. I guess I learned something today.
Zoo, is always the good place to spot some pretty critters
