Today Beth has posted a card about our wonderful national flag.
I would like to say I did some closet cleaning this week, but that wouldn't be the truth.
I have this closet. It houses a little of everything. Extra pillows, yarn, beads, photos. I am happy to report that the door does close and nothing falls out when I open the door. In my search for the objects I was looking for, I found some old postcards. I didn't remember them at all and it was a very pleasant surprise. Here is one of them - The San Antonio River Walk. I have to admit that I love the painted look and the wonderful colors of the older cards.
The very top of the card reads: "Where Sunshine and Shadows Meet". Scene on the San Antonio River, San Antonio, Texas.
My parents and I did live in San Antonio for a very short time when I was 6 years old.
That was some 50 - cough, cough - years ago. I'm guessing that is when this card was purchased ... a remembrance of sorts.

Haha, I seem to have the same cough you do. This is a lovely card. I really like the old Curt Teich linen cards. They were really almost art.

I began a major clean up in my armoire in my studiothis morning - needing to purge in order to make room for some new and also so I could find things in there better ! I am about 80% done. Now comes the funner part - some shopping for a few new storage ideas for paper. I didn't find a lovely memory treasure like you did but I did find a pretty beaded bracelet I bought a few years back that some how got lost in my bead stash !
Here's to cleaning up...every now and then !

Beautiful card! Trust me, that is not quite how the river walk looks today! I actually have a postcard of it from a few years ago. I wonder if I've ever posted it on PFF. It is not nearly so quiet and peaceful these days. Every time we go its bustling with activity.

For some reason I always like the "found" cards best. I agree with Coffeedoff, not how I imagined Texas.
I was at a garage sale several weeks ago where a box of old postcards were for sale. NOW I wish I had purchased them!

The riverwalk sure looks prettier then - not five million bars and restaurants to muck it up! The flowers and ducks are sure pretty enough though.

I like the older postcards, too. They have a painterly look that's much more pleasing than a photograph like the ones of today.
