Marie is our lovely postmistress for Postcard Friendship Friday.
Marie posted a beautiful card of little girl who is dog tired.
(You can find out a where "dog tired" came from by visiting Marie.)
How about Unicorn Tired?!!
This postcard is from a postcard book of 30 "elegant full-color postcards of the exquisite and mysterious Unicorn to mail, share, and cherish" published by Running Press Book Publishers and the artist, Michael Green.
From the back of the postcard:
"UNICORN AND DREAMING MAIDEN IN LANDSCAPE"
Oil on treated paper. 31.8 by 49.2 cm.
"The Unicorn has a singular virtue, that he can penetrate our dreams, and there address us. Therefore take heed, O Dreamer, when the Unicorn appears to thee. Though his speech is unlike any tongue of Man, yet shalt thou comprehend!"
"From the book UNICORNIS: On the History and Truth of the Unicorn, published by Running Press. Copyright 1983, 1986 by Michael Green. All rights reserved."
A little something from the front of the postcard book:
"The pictures reproduced on these postcards are drawn from the fabulous Unicornis Manuscript - an extraordinary document which, according to legend, languished for more than four centuries in the care of the Collegium Gnosticium, a mysterious Gnostic brotherhood. This curious work, a strange amalgam of Medieval and early Renaissance thought, was only recently brought to public attention through the ministrations of Michael Green, who assisted its translation and publication as De Historia et Veritate Unicornis (On the History and Truth of the Unicorn)."
Dream On!

Lovely card. Happy PFF!
A very beautiful card! I love the message on the back of the postcard, but sadly, no unicorn has ever spoken to me in my dreams or otherwise.
I love unicorns! Especially medieval ones. That's how I got interested in art and drawing actually. As a girl I was so obsessed with unicorns and horses that I started drawing them. Thanks for stopping by at my blog, and have a happy PFF!
Gorgeous postcard! Back in the 70's and 80's I had a "thing" for unicorns. I had so many pictures and figurines. I came across one picture just recently in a box of old "saved" items. But this is one I haven't seen before.
Beautiful card, if I ever get to sleep again, I shall be listening for unicorns.
Unique postcard !!!!
Have a nice weekend :-)

Lost my comment, so I'm trying again...
Hi Snap, I love unicorns. They are magical to me.. This reminded me of a great Kenny Loggins song called The Last Unicorn. Have you heard it???
Great postcard.
Hugs,
Betsy
I just adore unicorns - used to have them everywhere, but now only have one. It's a Jodi Bergsma print that Hubby bought me years ago. Your postcard reminded me I had it and I rediscovered this sentiment at the bottom...
"Just for today, I will find the magic in life, I will accept myself without complaint, I refuse to worry, I live to love, I am what I am."
Hmmmm, don't think a unicorn has ever spoken to me in a dream. I'm disappointed. I'd like to know what he would tell me.
I never knew that unicorns could penetrate your dreams. But then, I almost never remember any of my dreams.
ohhhhh, gorgeous card, I loves it!!! (it's probably the unicorn, I'm a softy for magicky critters). Happy PFF!
What a lovely postcard! The image almost looks Pre-Raphaelite. Thanks for sharing!
