Visit My World to see more of our world or to participate yourself!
Last week we walked around the Museum District in Houston a little more and this week I thought we'd return to Hermann Park and walk a little there.
Hermann Park is nestled between the Texas Medical Center, Rice University, and
the Museum District.

This is the reflection pool. It is 740 feet long and 80 feet wide.
We are looking toward the Pioneer Monument (obelisk 50 feet tall) and
the Miller Outdoor Theatre.
There is a jogging trail that winds it's way through the park --
about 2 miles long.
You can sit along the way and relax under the old live oak trees.

How about some Tai Chi?
Or sit and share your lunch with a friend.

I enjoyed your pictures. Your little red faced friend is very cute.
I want to visit your part of the world! Everything looks so pretty. Tai Chi in the park....sounds great to me.
I like the cross section of sites that you showed us.
Hi Snap! Loved the tai chi in the park. Someday I want to try that.
And your kitties are so cute!
The jogging trail is so scenic. Enjoy your day.
I enjoyed this. Thank you.
Thanks for sharing your part of the world!
I have never been to Texas but actually had an opportunity to move there about 10 years ago.
Awe Memories Snap...I've been there MANY years ago.. BUT--I think those same Tai Chi people were there then. ha ha...
Thanks for sharing.
Hugs,
Betsy
It looks like that would be a nice place to linger as long as it wasn't to hot and humid to leave the air conditioning.
My main blog is here.
Hi Snap, how about if I walk the trail and join the Tai Chi group for a cool down? I love this post. Have a great week!
Great shots and I would love share my lunch with the friend in your last shot. :)
What an interesting and varied walk! Loved the train - and the Tai Chi!
Janice.
Beautiful snaps. It is nice to have places like this in city, where people can relax.
Houston is far more beautiful than I imagined.
Enjoyed your post on cooking. Is it possible that if people grow up on crappy fast food, they have no idea what good (fresh) food is supposed to taste like? A friend grew up on tinned asparagus (vilest thing ever)and now can't enjoy it fresh and steamed. Other friends used to take me to overpriced restaurants and claimed the food was delicious, while in reality it tasted like cardboard. What's the point of great cooking in a country of spoiled palates?
Well I wanna ride that train!
It was lovely to walk with you in the park! Thanks. Thanks also for the visit and comment.
Love the beautifully camoflaged duck, almost as unrecognisable a a clown.
Snap: That was a neat series of photos at the park.
Thank you for sharing this part of your world Snap...I could feel the peace watching the tai chi!
What a beautiful place! Those trees are truly gorgeous...
Always great pics for your My World post. Did you really get that close to the duck? Awesome!!
That is a fabulous train!
Is there anything that Houston doesn't have?! Oh yeah, snow! I hope it's cooled down for you some. It's hotter than hades up here and I'm lovin' every sweat drop of it.
i spent many summer days with my Grandfather in Hermann Park, he lived in Galena Park.. we bussed into Houston.. I love the zoo, is it still a nice one?
Love your world! Tooot toot!
Hi there, We're home from our 2-day Hendersonville adventure. The plumbing is fixed and the folks are happy (I hope).
Hope you had a great day, Mrs. Dragon!!
Hugs,
Betsy
That jogging trail looks exactly like in the movies. The only thing missing is a guy in a sweated YALE gray t-shirt who is accidentaly a former secret agent...
;)
That looks like a park anyone can enjoy! The duck (?) is amazing!
Your photos are gorgeous! I enjoyed taking this little walk with you through this very charming park.
Thank you for your kind wishes and thoughtfulness. I appreciated your gentle words. They brought me comfort. Thank you.
