Important Mission

I had never been to the Japanese Garden when the crepe myrtles were blooming.
(Probably because it's always too blooming hot.)
This year I was determined to visit and I made it.
Camera, water bottle and fan in hand.

Crepe Myrtle

It was worth the visit.
I almost always see a whistling duck or two and a yellow-crowned night heron.
Not this time.

This time it was the elegant great white heron.
All of a sudden -- there he was.

White Heron

White Egret

I walked around the water fall and tried not to disturb him.
He was there on an important mission.

Dinner!

Wishing YOU well and much joy.

Goodness, what a fish. I wonder of that heron went for a sleep after such a huge meal? I would.

Great shots! The fan sounds a very clever idea. I have a hard time with humidity but I love to walk around gardens in the summer time, until I can't take the heat any longer or have gone through my water supply. The photo of your fisher bird is impressive. Have a great weekend :)

What a beautiful Japanese Garden and what a special blessing to see that heron! Well, maybe not a blessing for the fish.
