Spring is here!

The Hour of Tea

This is "The Hour of Tea" by American artist, Frederick Frieseke (1874-1939).
I've been sharing art work like this on my FaceBook page and thought I should be
sharing them here on tea day, too.
Frieseke was a prominent American Impressionist painter.
Born in Owosso, Michigan, he later studied at the Art Institute of Chicago,
the Art Students League in New York City and later in Paris.
Frieseke's art has been described as "Decorative Impressionism".
He often painted women in lush, colorful surroundings like his garden which was tended by his wife.

Spring Tea

Daffodils have arrived and for me that means Spring is really here.
I'm drinking Earl Grey in a Blue Willow cup and saucer by Churchill.

Wishing YOU well, much joy and a wonderful cup of tea.

A big thank you to our tea party hosts:

Hello Snap,
Your bunny is adorable sitting there and I too have a Churchill Blue Willow teacup. I adore daffodils and they were always my fav flower when I was growing up. Lovely post and thank you for sharing it with us at Tea Time. Hope you have a lovely week.

I love the soft colours of 'The Hour of Tea' and the striking bouquet of daffodils from your garden.
It's blue willow and violets amongst our friends this week.

what a joyous piece of art! It enkindles in me a wish for a garden where I could sit and sip my tea.
Around here, we still have only the green shoots, not the amazing and stunning daffodils like yours.

His tea time painting is lovely!
Your tea time too is dear, with your blue willow tea cup and fresh cheery daffodils. I always love those!

Gorgeous impressionist art! I love the spackling of sunlight across the scene making it so warm and inviting to tea - with blue and white china. Nice lead-in to your Churchill Blue Willow. I have the same cup and saucer - however my daffodils are just buds - and with our temps in the teens today and new snow on the ground, I don't know if they'll ever bloom! Taking joy anyway typing in my fingerless alpaca gloves!

What lovely cheerful images! Spring came here too, the daffs were out, and then .... Jack Frost came swooping down again! I hope the sun continues to shine for you. x

Your daffs and bunny signal spring. We're still getting snow, so smell the flowers for me, will you?

I grew up near Owosso, Michigan, but haven't heard of this painter. I love Impressionism, I will have to look him up. Your daffodils are so pretty, and go so well with your blue teacup.
