Spring Tea

Spring is just around the corner.
I thought I'd share this lovely Tuscan English Fine China teacup with you.
I love all the flowers, the colors and the Spring look!

Tuscan Tea Cup

I added a Gerbera Daisy from the garden.

Tuscan Tea Cup

For tea drinkers Spring means that the tea plants are readying for the first harvest.
The first flush March into April for teas in China (I'm looking forward to Dragonwell).
India (Darjeeling and Assam), Nepal and Taiwan among other areas.
There has been drought in some areas
and that will mean the harvest will be delayed and will not be as large.

It also means it's time for iced tea.
For me, I have iced tea year round, but for a lot of tea drinkers
Spring means get the ice out!

"The grandfather plants and raises the tea bushes,
the father harvests the tea,
and the son drinks it."
~Chinese Saying

Thank you to our tea party hosts:

Wishing YOU well, much joy and a delightful cup of tea!

I love the teacup. So feminine and delicate. I have a collection of china from my grandmother, who was born in 1898, that I wish I could learn more about. **happy smiles** Deb

Wonderful teacup! I love Tuscan designs! Good grief...you have gerberas??? We are just doing crocuses! It's just about making the 50s if it's sunny. We are indeed way behind you! Thanks for linking to Tuesday Cuppa Tea!

That Chinese saying certainly sums up how intergenerational wealth often works, doesn't it?

Such a pretty spring teacup. Winter weather is having its last hurrah on us so I thought I would use my favourite winter teapot and mug for the last time too.

What a joy to read about tea! Love the Chinese quote. I enjoy matcha and oolong- do you ever drink those? Also, genmaicha...which sounds good right now! haha

You've captured the essence of spring with your pretty teacup Snap. I have Dragonwell green but am having a difficult time liking the flavour. I guess always having jasmine tea has my tastebuds craving something sweeter.

So very pretty and spring like. We only just have crocuses here in the garden but I did see some blooming gerbas in the store. They are so cheerful and bright, aren't they?

What a beautiful tea cup and saucer! I've never considered the idea of tea harvests before or how a drought might affect them.

Iced tea is a staple in our house. Happy Spring! ~Michelle
