Postcard Friendship Friday

Postcard Friendship Friday is hosted by the lovely Beth over at The Best Hearts Are Crunchy.

Be sure you visit.

Murdock's Bath House Galveston

This is a postcard we received in the mail asking us to SAVE THE DATE.

I really liked how they combined the old with the new.

The old - the photo of the old Murdock's Bath House as it once stood on the beach on Galveston Island.
The image is one of those in the Rosenberg Library on the Island.
Murdock's was destroyed during hurricane Ike and is being rebuilt.
The grand-reopening scheduled at the same time as the fund raiser for the Ronald McDonald House.
Should be a lot of fun.

Lovely old pier, glad to hear it is being rebuilt. Ours is in a poor state and closed as it is dangerous.

Piers are wonderful phenomenons of another time. It was a great idea to walk and have dinner high above the water. Very good ibnitiative that it will be rebuilt. Greetings from Amsterdam (a city without piers but with a lot of water).

So the bath house pictured must have been built after the terrible unnamed storm that devastated Galveston early in the 20th century. Happy PFF!

That's a clever save-the-date idea. I love the old image of the busy boardwalk. By the way, your comment on my blog was published today, after some tech difficulties...you are definitely entered in my giveaway. Have a great weekend!
